If you suffer from any of these issues, if you know you have a history of developmental or shock trauma, or if you have symptoms that don't seem to improve through conventional or alternative medicine, somatic process may well be the hidden key to your healing and recovery.
Where many treatments take a piece-meal approach to the body and mind, somatics understands that you are a WHOLE PERSON, body, mind, and spirit. The nervous system is often the missing link that must be tended to if genuine, long-lasting, and thorough healing is to occur.
I offer direct interventions to regulate your nervous system, and also support you in developing life skills and somatic awarenesses that radically transform your mind-body connection.
Clients walk away from treatment not only with their symptoms drastically improved, but with greater self-awareness, resilience, confidence, and the capacity to be in relationship with self and other.

Who I Am and What I Do

My Background

I have been a bodyworker and somatic practitioner since 2012, bridging the space between physical symptoms and deeper causes. I gradually came to focus more and more on how somatic awareness and nervous system regulation support our capacity to heal from the effects of trauma, navigate stress, and become more resilient in the face of challenge. I am certified as a Touch for Trauma practitioner having trained with Kathy Kain of Somatic Practice. I studied Reichian psycho-physiological armoring patterns and energetic competency with Lynda Caesara, and worked at the Healus Neuro-Rehab Institute in Mill Valley before moving to Humboldt and into private practice. I am also a dancer and performance-maker, and bring my awareness of the moving, creative, expressive body into all the work I do.

"I found Anastasia's website when I first began my research on how trauma is stored in the body, and realized that my nervous system was out of balance and fatigued from being on high-alert for many years. I have had years of talk therapy and have been on medication, but was looking for the missing piece needed to finally feel fully present and connected in my body, and not just trapped in spirals of anxiety and hyper-awareness. While I was skeptical at first, I quickly came to realize the power of Anastasia's work. She helped me to pinpoint decades-old feelings of fear and shame stored in my body, and then gently and lovingly helped me to approach and begin working through these core feelings. I was also amazed when she gave me the skill to fully realize exactly when I was entering an episode of dissociation from my body, and how to stay grounded and connected to myself when those feelings arise. I am so grateful to have found Anastasia when I did, and deeply recommend her to all of my friends and family."
